Physicochemical Analysis of Potable Water in Baham Community, Western Region of Cameroon

Safe and easily accessible water is important for community health. This paper presents the physicochemical analysis of in Baham community, western region Cameroon by collecting samples from boreholes, well stream. Physiochemical using gravimetric titrimetric methods were carried out on collected they analysed based their temperature, pH, colour, odour, total dissolved solid (TDS) suspended (TSS), sulphate, lead chloride concentration as acidity alkalinity. The results showed low pH values between 5.39 6.11 all samples, an average temperature 20°C, agreeable colour odour but stream, which had very TDS 10-20 mg/l, TSS 10 50 acceptable stream a 30mg/l 50mg/l respectively, level 8-23 mg/l compared to WHO’s recommended 250 high sulphate contents 246.9-493.8 concentrations 0.27-0.30 about 5 times 0.05 WHO permissible limit. (60-110 mg/l) alkalinity (50-150 fall within limits. From above, it was concluded that quality not fit consumption according standards. It acidic, lacks essential minerals, properly disinfected has disturbingly concentrations.
